POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Membership Director, in cooperation with other Y staff, the Membership Representative is responsible for but not limited to assisting with the management of all memberships and their payments. Candidates will hold a high level of customer service. The person must demonstrate a commitment to the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty Respect and Responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reflects, develops and encourages the character attributes of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring in staff, volunteers and members.
Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
Provides accurate service to members and guests when handling transactions at the Welcome Center desk.
Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
Build relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the
YMCA.
Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisors of unusual situations or unresolved issues
Maintains the front Desk supplies and notifies Sr. Association Membership Director of any needed supply orders.
Manages the membership filing system to ensure all files are accurate and alphabetized. Any folders that need filed are filed correctly.
Assists with training/orientation and evaluation of the Welcome Center associates.
Must possess initiative and aptitude for directing staff toward common goals and have a good understanding of YMCA policies and procedures.
Able to work flexible hours when needed to help at Welcome Center.
Perform other appropriate duties as requested by the Sr. Association Membership Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must present themselves as a professional through image and communication.
Clerical, organizational, interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills.
Previous Y experience preferred.
Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
Basic knowledge of computers; must be competent in Microsoft Office and have the ability to quickly master the YMCA software Daxko.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
