Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the Irrigation division, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency. This role requires a highly organized leader with strong people management skills, a focus on operational systems, and the ability to drive accountability across multiple teams and service lines.
You'll work directly with ownership to streamline operations, improve profitability, and ensure exceptional service delivery for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily field operations across irrigation.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation for crews and vehicles.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Monitor job progress, completion timelines, and profitability.
Team Management
- Supervise and mentor field Leads, technicians, and seasonal staff.
- Lead daily or weekly team meetings focused on productivity, safety, and service quality.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and performance reviews.
Customer Service & Quality Control
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely communication and quality work.
- Resolve escalated service issues professionally and promptly.
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor workmanship and identify improvement opportunities.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Track labor, materials, and overhead to maintain margins and efficiency.
- Assist with estimating, job costing, and invoicing accuracy.
- Collaborate with ownership to develop annual budgets and operational KPIs.
Process & Systems
- Optimize the use of business software (e.g., Jobber, LMN, ServiceMinder, QuickBooks).
- Develop and refine workflow systems for scheduling, maintenance tracking, and reporting.
- Standardize inventory management, fleet maintenance, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of operations or management experience in irrigation
- 5+ years of two wire experience
- 5+ years of Pump and Variable drive experience
- Proven success managing multiple crews or divisions simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in operations software (Jobber, ServiceMinder, LMN, or similar).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47, $57,552.61 per year
