Position: Senior Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Office Location: Gulfport, Meridian, or Shannon

Job Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading and supporting a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, performance management, compliance, talent acquisition, benefits, training, and policy development. This role serves as a key HR partner to management and employees, ensuring HR strategies and operations aligned with organizational goals. The Senior HR Generalist may also provide guidance and mentorship to junior HR team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a reliable resource for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and compliance issues.
  • Handle sensitive employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution, while ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Manage and improve performance management processes, including coaching, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Assign new hires with uniforms and ensure proper first-day procedures are completed.
  • Manage and coordinate Brew U-based training for new hires to boost learning, enhance skills, and promote career development.
  • Provide operations managers with monthly training reports (Brew U) to support workforce performance monitoring.
  • Administer Motus mileage enrollment for the sales team across Mississippi and Maryland locations.
  • Administer HR actions in ADP Workforce Now, such as transfers, pay adjustments, terminations, role changes, and leave management. Across Mississippi and Maryland locations.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager in entering and maintaining payroll for Mississippi-based employees and provide support for Maryland payroll as needed.
  • Serve as the main contact for auto and property incidents, managing claims and monitoring accident documentation.
  • Support HR operations across multiple locations, including Gulfport and Meridian offices.
  • Provide managers with weekly updates on new hires and terminations.
  • Distribute overtime reports to Mississippi operations managers.
  • Assist with benefits administration, coordinate open enrollment, and help educate employees on available programs.
  • Contribute to training initiatives, employee engagement, and HR projects that drive company culture and development.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with employment laws and company policies.
  • Mentor and guide HR Generalists or Assistants, supporting professional development within the team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, with strong generalist background.
  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-state environment.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA).
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent interaction with employees across departments. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to other office locations or recruitment events.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for special projects or events.
