About the Program

NAIS, an SBA certified 8a and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is pursuing the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Information Systems Services Program.

Under this effort, NAIS will support the Department in strengthening cybersecurity, improving documentation, enhancing security policies and procedures, and supporting the overall information security governance environment.

Our mission is to support the Florida DEP Information Security Services to maintain secure, reliable, and well documented systems while improving consistency, readiness, and organizational security practices across the agency.

Where You Will Work

This program includes a hybrid environment with on-site work in Tallahassee, Florida for meetings, reviews, and working sessions.

Types of Roles on the Florida DEP Information Security Services

We are building a focused three person team to support information security operations, documentation development, and project management for this program. Each role provides essential support to help maintain accurate security documentation, strengthen governance practices, and deliver high quality products for the Department.

Project Manager:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience
The Project Manager oversees schedules, weekly status updates, deliverable tracking, workflow organization, and communication with the Department. This role ensures all assigned tasks are completed on time, meet required standards, and align with program expectations. The Project Manager also coordinates team activities, structures documentation workflows, and provides clear visibility into progress for Department leadership.

Information Assurance and Security Specialist Senior:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.

The Senior Information Assurance and Security Specialist leads the technical security activities required under this program. Responsibilities include reviewing and improving security policies and procedures, preparing and updating system documentation, supporting risk assessment activities, refining access control guidance, and contributing to updates for vulnerability and change management documentation. This position serves as the technical subject matter expert ensuring all security documentation is accurate, complete, and consistent across the program.

Technical Writer III:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience.

The Technical Writer develops and updates all documentation required for the program. This includes security policies, procedures, system descriptions, classification reports, security plans, user access documentation, audit logging information, and enterprise data flow materials. This role ensures every deliverable is clearly written, professionally structured, and aligned with the Department's required standards.
