About the Role:
We are looking for an individual to join our Construction Services Team for the role of Construction Estimator. You will work alongside our Engineering Staff and Sales Team to help provide quotes and supporting documentation to our customers for projects tailored to their specific needs in the aggregate industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a direct line of communication between our outside sales team and Construction Services Group to help provide quality solutions for our customers.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2D, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.), and CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and construction detail drawings.
- Data driven individual with the ability to process large volumes of information in a timely manner.
- Process information supplied by Sales staff to generate layout drawings and quote documents.
- Be familiar with construction industry (more specifically aggregates) and the processes involved in the creation and transport of products in the Crushed Stone/Sand & Gravel industries.
- Work directly with our vendors for quotes on any necessary purchased items to be used in a PMI system.
- Capability of completing takeoffs from drawings totaling steel weights with a high degree of accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing/construction environment
- High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing/construction environment
- Experience using AutoCAD design software and personal productivity tools like MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Teams
- Strong working knowledge of project lifecycles (bidding, design, fabrication, and installation)
- Experience in the heavy construction industry and contractor landscape
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals in various departments throughout the company.
Additional Skills/Knowledge (preferred):
- Previous experience in CAD design/detailing role
- Technical background (Engineering) with strong knowledge of large mechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through difficult and unique problems.
- Team oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong desire to learn about new topics & technologies in the construction/aggregate industry.

- Ability to understand and respond to verbal and written instructions.

Field / Job Site Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, or climb on uneven surfaces and navigate active construction or industrial sites.
- Ability to work around noise, dust, machinery, vibration, and varying terrain while following all required PPE protocols.
- Ability to hear instructions, equipment signals, and safety warnings in field environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, or dusty environments.
- Ability to travel to customer sites, quarries, shops, or vendor locations as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, reflective vests, gloves, or steel-toe boots during site visits.
Safety & Compliance Requirements
- Must follow all PMI safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Must report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment concerns immediately.
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing any required post-offer screenings related to safety-sensitive positions (e.g., drug testing, background checks, motor vehicle records where applicable).
