We are seeking an organized and proactive Warehouse Coordinator in Portland, Oregon, to oversee and manage the daily operations of our warehouse. This role is critical for ensuring efficiency, safety, and accuracy in all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping. You will play a key part in optimizing workflow, managing staff, and maintaining a secure and productive environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and workflows.
- Manage inventory levels, conducting regular audits and cycle counts.
- Ensure all warehouse activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
- Coordinate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and shipments.
- Implement security measures to protect warehouse assets.
- Train new employees on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and the use of equipment.
- Address any operational issues or discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a warehouse coordination or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting, including the importance of lifting safety and proper PPE usage.
- Experience with material handling equipment operation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting up to 50 lbs.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
