Join our Washington, D.C. team as a Shipping Clerk! This position is key to ensuring that our outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and compliantly. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping operations, from verifying orders and preparing documentation to coordinating with carriers and ensuring timely dispatch. A strong eye for detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for success in this role, which is fundamental to our logistics and supply chain processes. - Process and document all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare all necessary documentation for carriers.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled, secured, and meet carrier requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all transportation regulations and company policies regarding logistics.
- Conduct regular checks of shipping supplies and inventory.
- Champion workplace safety by following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Assist with receiving tasks and other warehouse duties as needed, including occasional lifting.
Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role. Proficiency with shipping software and carrier platforms. Thorough understanding of shipping documentation and procedures. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform tasks that require moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs). Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols is essential. Must be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. Strong attention to detail is critical. Good communication skills. Commitment to maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all shipping operations.
