We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is fundamental to ensuring the integrity of our incoming inventory and the efficiency of our supply chain. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately unloading, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. You will play a vital part in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all goods are received in good condition. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position. We need a reliable individual who can manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks efficiently and safely.
- Inspect all received goods for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Report any damages, shortages, or overages to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring it meets safety standards.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, as needed (certification may be required).
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts as directed.
- Follow all Lifting best practices to ensure personal and team safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using computers and data entry.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace safety in all logistics operations.
