Are you looking for a challenging role in the logistics industry? We are hiring a Material Handler to work at our facility in Nashville, Tennessee. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This position involves operating forklifts and other machinery to load, unload, and transport goods. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are moved safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall smooth operation of our logistics network. Strong candidates will have experience with various types of warehouse equipment, a solid understanding of safety procedures, and the physical capability for lifting and manual handling. Maintaining a safe workspace through the correct use of PPE is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving and stocking of incoming inventory.
- Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory control activities and help maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to a positive team environment focused on efficient logistics.
- Ability to handle demanding physical tasks, including frequent lifting of items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and experience.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous physical activity.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proficiency with PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
