Federal-Mogul Burscheid GmbH is the global competence center for piston rings and cylinder liners within the Tenneco Group and develops and produces high-quality piston rings for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in two plants with currently around 1,200 employees.


Key resposibilities:

  • continuously optimize safe, efficient, and scalable material flow performance and drive execution and commitment;
  • calculate takt time, cycle times, defining manpower, equipment, and buffers needed and ensure frequent updates in the ERP system;
  • elect and define how to choose the best equipment solution, such as tuggers, AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, through trade-off analysis;
  • lean material handling to cut inventory cycles, lower carrying costs, and boost labor efficiency while delivering measurable savings across operations;
  • implement new or advanced digital tools in order to optimize material flow, eliminate waste, and drive daily operational excellence;
  • collaborate with the regional manufacturing/ supply chain team and coordinate the flow of materials through the supply chain suppliers optimizing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management strategies;
  • collaborate with the manufacturing team and the supply chain team to drive cost savings, increase inventory turns and track financial performance;

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or operations; Master's preferred (MBA ideal) or similar education
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the area of material handling, material flow and integrity of production data
  • in-depth knowledge of logistics and production processes
  • careful, methodical and structured way of working with a strong Lean & continuous improvement mindset as well as deep understanding of Lean principles and practices
  • knowledge of financial metrics and their connection to material handling and lean material flow aspects.
  • professional experience on material handling transformations across the production plant (preferably in the automotive industry)
  • fluent German and English language skills
  • digital & analytic proficiency in SAP RLP, WMS, IoT, RFID (or similar systems) Power BI, MS office, and analytics platforms; experience scaling digital tools across large networks.
  • ability to lead a team and foster collaboration across different functions in the plant (e.g. Operations, Finance, Supply chain).
