Arroyo Vista is looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Your expertise will be crucial in helping patients regain their communication abilities and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine speech and language disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Provide speech therapy services to patients in various settings, including hospitals and acute care facilities
- Administer therapy techniques to improve speech articulation, language comprehension, and swallowing function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies for continued improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in ICU speech therapy techniques
- In-depth knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech and swallowing function
- Strong case management skills to effectively coordinate patient care
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Familiarity with medical terminology commonly used in acute care settings

*Qualifications*
* Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent
* Valid state licensure and certification in speech therapy
* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
* Proficiency in medical terminology and patient assessment
* Experience in acute care settings, particularly with dysphagia patients
* Familiarity with developing care plans and early intervention strategies
* Preferred experience working with pediatric populations in school settings
