HAYS has partnered with a leading financial services organization to recruit an experienced Tax Business Analyst for a critical financial transformation project. The initial focus of this role will be on FATCA/CRS and VAT regulatory changes, requiring a professional with a robust background in tax transformations within large, multi-entity banking environments or consultancies. This position offers an initial contract of six months, with the likelihood of extension, based in London with a hybrid working model requiring three days in the office per week. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and implementing tax-related process improvements and regulatory compliance initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with existing financial systems and platforms.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including: Proven experience as a Tax Business Analyst, particularly within banking or consultancy environments, with full project lifecycle involvement. Deep understanding of FATCA/CRS regimes, UK VAT compliance, and accounting principles such as multi-GAAP. Strong knowledge of financial products, their tax implications, and global ledger flows. Proficiency in data analysis, BI tools like Power BI, and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and APIs. Experience working with finance systems including Oracle GL/Subledger, Murex, and LoanIQ. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax and financial concepts for diverse audiences. A proactive approach to process automation, regulatory reporting, and operational risk management.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Tax Business Analyst will include, but are not limited to: Analyzing current tax processes and identifying areas for automation and efficiency improvements. Gathering and documenting business requirements through BRDs and FRDs, and translating these into functional specifications. Supporting the delivery of tax transformation initiatives related to FATCA, CRS, and VAT compliance. Collaborating with technical teams to map complex data flows, ensuring data quality and integrity across platforms. Developing UAT plans, executing testing, and supporting end-user training to ensure successful implementation of new processes and systems. Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to communicate project progress, risks, and issues effectively. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls throughout the project lifecycle. Contributing to the continuous improvement of tax processes and supporting regulatory reporting requirements.
