About the Role

Horizon West Landscape Services is seeking a Sales Estimator to support our growing portfolio of commercial landscape and irrigation projects across Florida.

This role sits at the intersection of preconstruction, estimating, and sales, working closely with general contractors, internal operations teams, and suppliers to produce accurate, competitive bids that can be executed efficiently in the field.

This is a high-impact position with direct influence on project wins, profitability, and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed landscape and irrigation estimates for commercial construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans, specs, and addenda
• Review RFPs, bid instructions, and scope requirements
• Coordinate pricing with vendors, nurseries, and subcontractors
• Work directly with general contractors during preconstruction and bid clarification
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk items before submission
• Assist with value engineering and alternate pricing when requested
• Maintain organized estimating files and historical pricing data
• Support handoff from sales to operations after award

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience (landscape, irrigation, or related construction trade preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction documents and specifications
• Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (or ability to learn quickly)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Clear, professional communication with internal teams and external partners
• Ability to manage multiple bids under deadline pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $70,000.00 per year
