Job Description This position involves overall accountability for the daily coordination of patient clinic and surgical care needs. The Physician Surgery Coordinator is responsible for the administrative portion of coordinating surgeries for assigned physicians and coverage/support for other surgeons when assigned. Responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling surgeries as requested by physician, including all pre-operative testing, scribing and communicating surgery orders, insurance authorizations, and post-operative appointments with the physician. Collaborates with other members of the surgical team both within the clinic, surrounding departments and other facilities. Ensures efficient telephone communication and performs according to all applicable Kaleida Health and departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrates courtesy and helpfulness toward patients and their families.Education And Credentials
HS Diploma or GED required.
Experience 2 years of experience in a medical setting with adult population required. Prefer proficiency in medical terminology, insurance, ICD 10 codes. 1 year of experience in a surgical setting preferred. Required skills include: Patient/Customer Service, Interpersonal, Oral communication, Team work, Judgement, Quantity (meets productivity), Organization, Multitasking, Computer competency, and Microsoft Office familiarity.Working Conditions
