Job Overview
Lead the architecture and build-out of the organization's cloud-native data platform in Azure, establishing the data foundation for advanced analytics and AI-driven initiatives. This position will be responsible for designing modern, scalable data pipelines and integrating data from diverse sources, ensuring the data ecosystem is robust, secure, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities
This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure tools.
  • Implement Self Service Reporting via a medallion architecture data warehouse to enable high-quality data curation, lineage, and access within a lakehouse ecosystem.
  • Integrate, transform, and model data from various sources (ex: Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB, Kafka, etc.) for analytic and operational use cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to capture requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data architecture, data quality, security, governance, and compliance across the platform.
  • Enable future AI and ML capabilities by preparing and structuring data for agentic, vectorized workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and proactively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Support the Data & Analytics team as the SQL expert (code optimization, etc.).
  • Create and maintain a Data Dictionary in support of Self-Service Reporting.
  • Additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including architecting and delivering data pipelines and platforms on Azure.
  • Substantial hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and related Azure data services.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT processes. Spark, Scala, or Java are desirable.
  • Proven ability to work with and integrate data from both relational (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture concepts, including data lakehouses, Medallion architecture, and real-time data processing.
  • Experience implementing data security, governance, and compliance controls in the cloud.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration, vector data preparation, or readiness for advanced analytics initiatives are a plus.
  • Experience with Data Governance / Data Quality tools and processes (e.g., Azure Purview).
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties as outlined above.
