We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Theatre Manager to lead daily operations at our cinema. This role oversees staff management, guest experience, scheduling, inventory, facility upkeep, and adherence to company standards. Job description

The Theatre Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of theatre operations at Village Centre Cinemas Wandermere. This role ensures a seamless guest experience, efficient daily operations, and a positive, professional environment for staff. The manager will balance operational logistics with creative promotions, driving both attendance and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily theatre operations including scheduling, staffing, concessions, and box office.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and company standards.
  • Manage budgets, payroll, and inventory with attention to efficiency and accuracy

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise theatre staff, fostering a culture of accountability and respect.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and customer service.

Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction through attentive service and problem resolution.
  • Implement accessibility and inclusivity initiatives, ensuring all guests feel welcome.
  • Monitor audience feedback and adjust operations to improve the theatre experience.

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with leadership/owners and marketing teams plus staff to plan themed events, contests, and promotions.
  • Build partnerships with local schools, businesses, and organizations to strengthen community ties.
  • Support social media and promotional campaigns to boost attendance and brand visibility.

Strategic Oversight

  • Provide regular reports/updates and recommendations to leadership/owners on theatre performance.
  • Anticipate industry trends and propose innovative ideas to enhance operations and revenue.
  • Assist with organizational transitions, including potential expansion or restructuring.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in theatre, hospitality, or retail management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, payroll, and inventory control.
  • Creative mindset for promotions and community engagement.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
