Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef who respects the craft, works cleanly and efficiently, and understands the rhythm of a busy sushi bar. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality execution and enjoys contributing to a professional, collaborative kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and related dishes with accuracy, consistency, and care
• Maintain proper handling, storage, and preparation of fish and ingredients
• Keep the sushi station clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards
• Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth, timely service
• Support prep work, inventory awareness, and waste reduction
• Follow established recipes and presentation standards
• Assist in guiding and supporting junior kitchen staff as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a restaurant setting
• Strong knife skills and confidence working with raw fish
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling practices
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
