SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The General Manager will manage day-to-day operations for one of the FM business units. This executive will develop and implement a variety of strategies to maximize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while maintaining world-class quality performance. The General Manager will provide oversight and guidance.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of contemporary manufacturing methodologies, a working knowledge of CNC Machining, and a proven track record of successfully managing a multisite, complex fast fast-paced operation.
- Responsible for the overall operations of the FM Industries business unit and ensuring alignment with company priorities, goals, and objectives.
- Work with the Executive Management Team to formulate the vision, set strategic goals, and design and execute a plan of action.
- Meet with customers and potential customers to increase business and maintain a good working relationship.
- Review financial analysis and make budgetary adjustments as required.
- Work with the Quality Department to ensure quality standards are met and upheld in all manufacturing and overhead departments.
- Ensure strategic direction, goals, and objectives are communicated and flowed down to all.
- Responsible for fulfilling the Company's commitment to provide a safe environment and to conduct its operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and accepted practices for health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, Company policy, and accepted safe work practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college, university, MBA preferred, with 10-15 years of operations management experience in a contemporary manufacturing environment, including applicable experience in planning and quality (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- CNC Machining experience is a plus.
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and execute business strategies to address efficiency, quality, or growth targets.
- Basic knowledge and experience with mechanical processes, including machining, fabrication, stamping, welding, and coating.
- Experienced using Word, Excel, and ERP Systems and a working knowledge of production, costing, inventory control, and purchasing principles.
- Experienced with Six Sigma philosophy is desired.
- Proven track record of successful problem-solving utilizing critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills at all levels.
- High energy, motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be a team player, highly motivated, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members positively.
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to direct individuals and delegate responsibilities and tasks.
- Must be computer literate and able to utilize MS Office, spreadsheets, ERP systems, etc.
