Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. This vital role involves fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment while helping residents maintain their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality care that promotes well-being and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and document residents' health status, vital signs, and any changes in condition with accuracy and professionalism
  • Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food safety standards are maintained
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and resident rooms
  • Observe residents closely for signs of distress or health issues such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, reporting findings promptly to healthcare professionals
  • Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
  • Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures during emergencies or incidents

Requirements

  • Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Certification in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are a plus
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using Hoyer lifts or other equipment
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through direct support and caregiving
