This person will be primarily responsible for providing drawings for new revised needs for current equipment or new equipment drawings for customers. This position is also responsible for the organization of drawings, the disbursement of drawing to reach the finished product – batch box, side dump trailers, ag trailers, shades, etc. This person will be responsible to know how the Solid Works drawing system works, how to draw up the components for each segment such as batch box, ag trailers, side dump trailers, etc. A good basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components on how these components are put together for a final product.

Requirements

Duties Include:

  • Communicates and collaborates with the other departments to meet goals/objectives
  • Set up the print(drawings) look up on the drawings for use on the production floor
  • Operate a computer system using Solid Works to prepare the drawings
  • Operate Solid Works components to maintain drawing compatibility with make/model
  • Provides an organized process on filing drawings for operators/managers to locate-5S
  • Operate diagrams and drawing for various electrical/mechanical components/devices/controls
  • Create visual guidelines for operator purposes
  • Provides completed (mated) drawings for operator usage & guidelines
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures
  • Consult with designer to construct drawings
  • Completes all necessary paperwork for equipment
  • Explain drawings to operators throughout the plant.
  • Provide visual guidelines for operators/training
  • Perform inspection of finished goods produced when requested
  • Follows the schedule established to meet drawing needs
  • Integrates the drawings into the nesting/Global software
  • Maintains records and coordinates the periodic safety inspection when needed
  • May need to operate indoor/outdoor forklifts, and other necessary vehicles and

Equipment to complete the job

  • Ability and effectiveness to manage time to meet required deadlines.
  • All other duties as assigned for operational effectiveness

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Technical School Drafting/Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years Drafting/Engineering Experience
  • Good Communication & Team Work Skills
  • 7 years of Computer experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be able to obtain OSHA required Forklift Certification
  • Working knowledge of a drafting program
  • Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical components
  • Ability to oversee and train operators
  • Working knowledge of computer operations
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions relating to equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
  • Follow standard safety practice and procedures
  • Follow written and verbal instruction
  • Maintain accurate records

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

  • Computer, phone; copy machine; radio; 10-key calculator; forklift, tools, and other equipment pertaining to this position.
