Youth Activities Instructor

The Youth Activities Instructor helps create a fun, safe, and positive experience for kids and teens at the YMCA. In this role, you will lead games, sports, fitness activities, and creative programs that help kids build confidence, make friends, and stay active. You will serve as a positive role model and help bring the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility to life every day.

This is a great position for high school and college students who enjoy working with kids, staying active, and being part of a supportive team.

You will lead games, sports, and activities for kids and teens.

You will help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all participants feel safe and supported.

You will supervise participants and follow YMCA safety policies and procedures.

You will encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

You will build positive relationships with kids, families, and fellow staff.

You will assist with setting up and cleaning up activities and equipment.

You will attend required trainings and staff meetings.

You must be at least 16 years old.

You enjoy working with children and teens.

You are reliable, positive, and willing to learn.

You are able to communicate clearly and work as part of a team.

CPR and First Aid certification is required (training can be provided if needed).

You are able to stay active during shifts, including standing, running, bending, and light lifting.

You are willing to work evenings and/or weekends based on program needs.

Pay Information

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $10.00 – $10.50 per hour
