Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Handle medical billing accurately, ensuring timely payments and clear communication with pet owners.
- Sometimes assist with animal handling tasks such as restraint, pet care and to support veterinary procedures.
- Maintain organized records of patient information, treatment plans, and laboratory results using veterinary software.
- Support kennel operations by coordinating animal care, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring during hospital stays.
- Facilitate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and medication instructions.
- Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Help manage hospital's email, online store, and prescription refill sites.
Skills
- Proven experience in veterinary reception or customer service within a veterinary setting (1-2 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and animal husbandry practices
- Ability to handle diverse animals safely using proper restraint methods and animal handling skills
- Experience with medical collections processes and pet care management systems
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and external partners
- Have experience with veterinary computer software
- Experience with a paper charts system
