The Strategy/Transformation Lead for the Gardena Division plays a vital role in shaping the future of the division and ensuring alignment with the overarching strategic framework of the Husqvarna Group. This role is responsible for guiding the division's strategic direction, managing potential M&A activities, and providing insights through market intelligence and lead or support in complex or strategic projects. The role is responsible to create and maintain the network of other strategy related roles within the division and with relevant Group resources.
Preferably this role will be based in Ulm, Germany.
- Strategy Development: Lead and coordinate the development of our division's strategy, ensuring that it aligns with our long-term goals and the Group strat egy.
- Strategic Program Management: Oversee the execution of our division's strategic program, ensuring that it progresses according to plan and meets our strategic objectives.
- M&A Strategy Leadership for the division: Own the M&A agenda, working closely with the Category and Sales Region teams to identify, assess, and execute M&A opportunities under the supervision of the President and CFO of the Division.
- Strategic Advisor: Act as a strategic advisor to the Divisional Management team, offering guidance and recommendations to shape our strategic decisions, direction, trends and macro / competitor landscape.
- Strategy Process Lead: Develop and lead the strategy development process, ensuring that strategic initiatives are carried out effectively, that relevant KPI's / targets are tracked and coordinated.
- Coordinate and Periodically Assess Strategy Programs: Conduct regular assessments of our strategic program's progress and effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary.
- Communication and Buy-in: Support division-wide communication, presentations, knowledge sharing, and buy-in of the strategy and M&A related initiatives among all relevant stakeholders, including Management Team, Group Management and Board of Directors.
- Lead, support and coordinate strategic divisional projects: Lead or support in divisional high-priority projects and analysis as requested by the divisional management team.
- Support the management team with analysis and presentations in areas such as market intelligence and Board material
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering, Business, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English (german language an advantage)
- Seven to ten years of experience in setting up strategy frameworks, processes, and implementation, preferably including business modeling, go-to-market strategies, and service innovation.
- Experience in complex project management, preferably in a global organizational setup with remote teams, preferably in a matrix organization.
- Strong analytical skills including advanced Excel and analytics (e.g. Power BI) skills
- Strong financial and business acumen, preferably from the Industrial Equipment, Construction or Manufactured products areas
- Strong communication skill both written / presentation and spoken
- Previous experience in M&A due diligence, negotiations, and a basic understanding of transactional and contract laws.
- Advantageous to have experience working in a growth mode business, as well as a cost focused / turnaround environment
