We are hiring a Yard Operations Director to run our yard and manage our people. If you cannot confidently manage employees, make schedules, operate equipment, and step in wherever needed , this is not the role for you.

This position requires strong leadership, accountability, and the ability to keep operations moving even when things don't go as planned.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Overseeing all daily yard operations
• Managing yard staff and delivery drivers
• Creating and adjusting daily and weekly schedules
• Handling call-offs, time-off requests, and coverage gaps
• Answering staff questions and making real-time decisions
• Assisting employees on the ground — not supervising from the office
• Loading trucks and trailers with mulch, soil, stone, and other materials
• Operating heavy equipment (skid steer, loader, forklift, etc.)
• Keeping the yard organized, efficient, and safe
• Enforcing expectations, policies, attendance, and productivity
• Solving problems quickly without waiting to be told what to do

You Must Have

• Proven experience managing employees and drivers
• Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment
• The ability to lead, direct, correct, and support staff
• Strong scheduling, planning, and decision-making skills
• The ability to step into any role when needed
• Comfort working outdoors in all conditions
• Thick skin, professionalism, and accountability
• Reliability -we need someone who shows up and leads every day

This Role Is Best For Someone Who

• Has run a yard, shop, warehouse, construction crew, or similar operation
• Knows how to manage personalities and performance
• Can think on their feet when someone calls off or plans change
• Leads by example and earns respect through action
• Doesn't need constant direction to do their job
