Duties Description
The Bureau of Fiscal Management (BFM) oversees a broad scope of responsibilities including budget analysis, contract management, procurement, accounts payable, ethics reporting, travel administration, and payroll support functions. Duties of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following: contract and procurement development, reporting, and monitoring; maintaining accurate purchase records, and ensuring compliance with State procurement policies and finance law; assisting in the development of the agency's annual budget request; monitoring payroll and non-payroll spending; reviewing and approving agency-wide travel requests and expenses; processing various transactions within the Statewide Financial System (SFS); SFS security administration; and, creating fiscal projections and reports in Excel using data from SFS, PayServ and other sources.

To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position:

• Bachelor's degree* or higher
• Advanced placement to the Trainee 2 or Grade 18 level may be possible depending on education and experience.
• Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accredited agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
