We are actively seeking passionate and creative individuals who love the smell of baked goods as much as we do. We prefer those with food service experience, specially in a café setting. We have a staff diverse in age, gender, race, language, and class; all are welcome here.

Specifically looking for a teammate with 30-40 hrs of availability. Weekdays, some nights and weekends.

The pay range noted is inclusive of tips.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, consistent, and accurate customer service;
  • Prepare drinks for and create a positive atmosphere for our teammates and customers
  • Prepare baked goods for cases – cookies, Mexican breads, and cupcakes;
  • Fry churros, buñuelos, flores, and cook crepes, etc. for customers at point of service;
  • Prep chocolate for various uses;
  • Handle and diffuse escalated customer or operational situations;
  • Maintain bar/kitchen equipment, wash dishware, and keep the kitchen clean;
  • Ensure the whole team is 100% compliant with Food Safety rules
  • Maintain stock and manage weekly supply/food ordering
  • Work on cool new drink and food ideas as well as process improvement. Ensure the Bar and/or Kitchen staff are aware of additions/updates to the menu.
  • Work with the Floor Supervisor when teammates are having attendance issues or if they need reminded of company policies
  • Handle elevated conversations with teammates that may include write up and termination topics.
  • Coach, train and mentor bar/kitchen teammates when needed and coordinate training as needed for new teammates

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • More than (1) year customer service experience in a café or restaurant environment; and

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic cash registers, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office software, and standard office equipment;
  • ServSafe Certified;
  • Fluent in Spanish a plus.

  • Productivity: Complete work in a timely manner; and strive to increase productivity.

Working Conditions

  • Retail hours: Nights, weekends, early mornings and some holidays
  • Frequent need to lift at least fifty (50) pounds;
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time;
  • Frequent need for oral, written and auditory communication;
  • Frequent mobility to move about the kitchen and chocolatería; and
  • Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions.
