Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials and products within the facility. This role is crucial for maintaining an organized and productive warehouse operation.

Duties

• Operate forklifts to load and unload materials and products.
• Perform order picking tasks using paper pick tickets to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all materials are handled safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse management to maintain inventory accuracy and organization within the warehouse.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols while operating heavy equipment.
• Participate in training sessions for new equipment or procedures as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to best practices in materials handling.

Requirements

• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, with a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and order picking processes.
• Experience with shipping & receiving operations is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations is essential.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
