Catering Cook & Inventory Lead

What You'll Do
You'll be the bridge between Catering Operations and BOH Organization, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and every ingredient, container, and carton has its place.
Event & Catering Coordination
- Prep and produce food for catering and in-house events according to Pig & Grits quality standards.
- Execute event orders and assist in the setup, delivery, and breakdown of catering functions.
- Collaborate with the Catering Manager to develop and test creative menu ideas and custom event offerings.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Manage bi-weekly ordering and receiving, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimal waste.
- Track product costs, forecast needs, and monitor fluctuations with vendors to protect profitability.
- Maintain par levels for catering and BOH items, communicating shortages proactively.
- Work closely with the Kitchen Manager to track food costs and maintain purchasing consistency.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure all catering products meet Pig & Grits' standards of freshness and presentation.
- Maintain organized prep and storage areas following NC Health Code standards.
- Support a positive and efficient kitchen environment where teamwork thrives.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 2+ years in catering, production cooking, or kitchen leadership.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to pivot when things change.
- Mindset: Calm under pressure, proactive communicator, and passionate about food done right.
- Extras: Familiarity with inventory systems or vendor ordering platforms (US Foods experience a plus).
