About the role:
This is a high-impact
Product Engineer
role and a first-of-its-kind hire for the team. The
Product Engineer
will work closely with founders and customers to shape both the product and the developer experience from the ground up.

The role is ideal for a strong generalist who enjoys working across the stack, values thoughtful UX for developers, and brings strong product intuition. Experience with modern web systems, developer-facing tools, or backend services is a plus—but curiosity and craftsmanship matter most.

What You'll Do

• Build and evolve early-stage product features in close collaboration with founders and customers
• Design and implement intuitive developer-facing experiences
• Work across the stack, with an initial
  ~65/35 backend lean
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customers to ship quickly and iteratively
• Contribute to the launch and scaling of
  Gram
  , Speakeasy's serverless MCP cloud platform
• Operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving environment
• Act as the primary liaison to both the client and talent for all client-facing HR matters

What You Need

• Education: CS or adjacent STEM degree with strong coding fundamentals (school-agnostic)
• 2–7 years of experience as a Product Engineer
• Frontend:
  React,
• Backend:
  Django
• Experience at strong product companies in
  Big Tech and/or startups
• Former founder or founding engineer experience is a strong plus (even if the company did not succeed)
• Experience building
  AI, MCP-related, DevTool, or productivity products
• Proven ability to own and ship real products end-to-end
• Exceptional fundamentals in React and
• Excited to work across the stack (backend-leaning to start)
• Strong product engineering instincts and technical depth

Salary & Benefits

• Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA.
• Salary: $200,000 - $260,000 / Year
• This is a full-time, long-term position.
• The position is immediately available.
• Hybrid – in-person 3 days/week (FiDi)
• Monday through Friday, during regular business hours
• Equity: Competitive
