The Pool Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the resort's pool, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience. This role oversees lifeguards, pool attendants, and poolside food & beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service, safety, and cleanliness. The Pool Manager is a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOperations & Service Excellence
- Ensure the pool area operates smoothly, providing a luxury experience that aligns with the resort's standards.
- Oversee poolside F&B service, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timeliness of food and beverage offerings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing pool environment, coordinating with overnight cleaners and maintenance teams.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall experience.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, train, and schedule lifeguards, pool attendants, and F&B staff, ensuring full coverage and exceptional service.
- Conduct regular training on safety procedures, guest service, and F&B operations.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that emphasizes accountability, professionalism, and engagement.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all pool safety protocols, ensuring lifeguards are properly trained and certified.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor water quality, coordinating with engineering to ensure proper chemical balance and cleanliness.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies, guest concerns, or incidents.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage poolside revenue and expenses, optimizing profitability without compromising guest experience.
- Track inventory and coordinate orders for poolside F&B, towels, and supplies.
- Develop seasonal promotions and special events to drive poolside engagement.
- Work closely with F&B leadership to refine menu offerings and streamline service execution.
- High school or equivalent education required. Experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality, recreation, or pool operations.
- Knowledge of pool safety regulations and lifeguard management.
- Experience in F&B operations, with a focus on high-end poolside service.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR & Lifeguard Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
- Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
