Position Summary:
Supports clients with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to promote physical, communication, and social/emotional development and functional independence for self-care
- Provides personal assistance for personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living based on individualized care plans
- Supports efforts to reinforce, instruct, and train parents/guardians/other caregivers regarding the adult's care needs.
- These essential functions require visual/hearing acuity, sufficient strength, and the ability to bend, reach, grasp, manipulate objects, pull/push, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds or exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently to move objects or human bodies with or without the use of adaptive equipment. Walking, standing, or working on the floor may constitute at least half of work time. Lifting forces vary with adult weight and level of ability to assist in the movement.

- Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communicates effectively with individuals and/or groups in both private and public environments.
- Makes timely and effective decisions in the absence of perfect information.
- Demonstrates flexibility when seeking solutions.
Education/Qualifications:
A High School diploma or GED
One-year of experience providing services to adults with disabilities preferred.
