Join our dedicated team as a Shipping Clerk in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and become an integral part of our logistics operations. This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documentation, and maintaining a smooth workflow from the warehouse to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and process shipping labels, manifests, and bills of lading.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and customer service representatives regarding shipment status.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files for easy retrieval.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and pallet wrappers.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and meet carrier requirements.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines and protocols within the shipping department.
- Properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks.
- Assist in resolving any shipping-related discrepancies or issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and common office software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light Lifting as needed.
- Commitment to upholding Safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
