We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team at our busy distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all logistics activities. Your responsibilities will include managing warehouse staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and guidance to ensure operational targets are met. You will play a critical role in inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving processes. Maintaining a safe working environment is a top priority; therefore, you must enforce all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and conduct regular safety audits. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and best practices in logistics. This role requires the ability to perform tasks that may involve moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs) and standing for extended periods. You will be instrumental in optimizing workflow, reducing errors, and enhancing overall productivity. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package for this key leadership position.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff.
- Manage inventory levels, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving operations.
- Ensure efficient workflow and optimize warehouse layout and processes.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse team members.
- Enforce all safety rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with PPE usage and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor productivity and performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed.
- Manage equipment and ensure it is maintained in safe working order.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to warehouse operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on logistics excellence.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including moderate lifting.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
