Our dynamic logistics company is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials within the warehouse. You will operate various types of forklifts to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from designated areas, including storage, production, and shipping docks. This role requires a strong understanding of forklift operation safety protocols, including pre-operation checks and load capacity awareness. You must maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that all movements are conducted in a manner that minimizes risk to personnel and property. Adherence to all company safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. The ideal candidate will be certified to operate forklifts, possess a keen awareness of their surroundings, and be capable of performing tasks that involve moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) and sustained physical activity. Your role is vital in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods through our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated areas, ensuring stability and safety.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, free of obstructions.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and traffic rules.
- Wear appropriate PPE, such as hard hats, safety shoes, and reflective vests.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of the logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Forklift Operator certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of safe forklift operating procedures and warehouse safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Flexible schedule availability, including potential overtime.
