The role
We are looking for a highly motivated, product‑minded Staff or Senior Data Engineer to join our Insights team. As a technical leader, you'll blend strategic vision with hands‑on delivery, building and evolving a scalable data platform that transforms raw data into a foundation for actionable business insights. You'll thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment and be deeply motivated by solving user problems and creating real business impact.
What you’ll do
Own the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery. This includes developing a deep understanding of the data domain to architect solutions that deliver genuinely actionable intelligence.
Drive technical excellence and lead architectural decisions that improve our technology stack. You'll be instrumental in shaping our product, influencing the team's technical strategy and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Mentor other engineers of all levels, championing best practices and raising the team’s bar.
Proactively identify and prototype opportunities to embed AI into our core products to deliver novel value to clients. You'll also drive the use of AI tools to enhance engineering productivity and upskill others across the team.
Collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, communicating complex concepts to influence our technical roadmap.
What you'll bring
Extensive experience with distributed systems, large‑scale data and modern data engineering technologies.
Deep expertise in a strongly typed language and the ability to quickly deliver value in C# and Python.
Practical experience with tools such as Databricks Delta Lake, SQL, Spark, Dagster, DBT, Temporal and Airflow.
Proficiency in modern build and deployment processes, including automated, progressive continuous deployments in a cloud‑based environment.
A proven track record of building robust, reliable systems with a strong focus on observability, data quality, and operational excellence.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
A strong desire to learn a new business domain and use that data‑centric understanding to influence product design.
