We are looking for a reliable and motivated Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring efficient operations and seamless logistics. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching various types of materials and products. This position requires physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. Your contribution is vital to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our inventory management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials, verify contents against shipping documents, and inspect for damage.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse, optimizing space utilization.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification may be required).
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Fulfill material requisitions and prepare items for shipment or further processing.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in cycle counting procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental goals and support overall logistics operations.
- Report any issues related to materials, equipment, or safety to management promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience operating forklifts and other relevant machinery is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including Lifting up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is a plus.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and adhering to Safety regulations.
- Good communication skills.
