Our dynamic logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring that all outgoing orders are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting our customers' needs. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, labeling packages, and staging orders for pickup. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to Safety and accuracy. You will be an essential link in our supply chain, contributing to the seamless flow of goods. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Apply correct labels and postage to packages.
- Stage outgoing shipments in the designated loading areas.
- Operate shipping dock equipment safely, including pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers regarding logistics.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics processes.
- Commitment to Safety and maintaining a secure work environment.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting as needed.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
