We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing and preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring all packages are correctly labeled, documented, and dispatched in a timely manner. This role is critical to our supply chain operations, maintaining the flow of goods to our valued customers. You will be working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, interacting with various carriers and internal departments. Attention to detail is paramount as you will be verifying order accuracy, inspecting goods for damage, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected at all times. This position involves frequent Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs. Join us and contribute to the efficiency of our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing packages.
- Verify contents of outgoing shipments against packing slips and customer orders.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and prevent damages.
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Proper use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Regular Lifting and moving of boxes and packages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe work environment.
