We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our logistics and receiving/shipping processes. The ideal candidate will have proven experience, a strong commitment to safety, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Move products from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, replenishment, and cycle counts.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments being loaded or unloaded.
- Support the logistics team in various warehouse operations as needed.
- Practice safe lifting techniques when handling items manually.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
