We are looking for a reliable Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing orders are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting customer deadlines. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and loading outgoing freight. Attention to detail is paramount to prevent errors and ensure timely delivery of goods. The position requires organization, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety; proper use of PPE is mandatory. While the role is primarily focused on coordination and documentation, occasional lifting of packages may be required. We seek individuals who are proactive, possess good communication skills, and are eager to contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain operations. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key player in our outbound logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery.
- Generate and apply accurate shipping labels.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup schedules.
- Load outgoing freight onto trucks, ensuring proper securing.
- Verify shipment contents against order details before dispatch.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and carriers.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with tasks involving occasional lifting of parcels up to 30 lbs.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to perform tasks involving occasional physical exertion and lifting.
- Familiarity with general logistics operations.
