Forklift Operator

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator / Order Puller is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other yard equipment to pull, stage, load, and organize pipe orders. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, proper material handling, and safe yard operations in a fast-paced pipe yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and yard equipment to move, load, and unload pipes

• Pull pipe orders accurately according to pick tickets or work orders

• Stage materials for shipment, delivery, or customer pickup

• Verify pipe size, grade, quantity, and condition before shipment

• Band, tag, and secure pipe for transport

• Maintain proper pipe stacking and yard organization

• Assist with inventory control and cycle counts

• Perform daily forklift inspections and report mechanical issues

• Follow all safety policies and yard procedures

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification

• Previous experience operating forklifts in a yard, warehouse, or industrial setting

• Experience handling pipe or steel products preferred

• Ability to read work orders, pick tickets, and basic measurements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
