Assistant Controller

Job Overview

International Environmental Management Inc. is a growing, multi-entity waste equipment rental company seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support accounting operations across several related entities. This role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key part in financial reporting, and intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full-cycle accounting under the direction of the Controller
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements
• Handle intercompany transactions across multiple entities
• Assist with sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax filings
• Prepare entity-level financial statements as needed
• Maintain customer and vendor compliance and registrations
• Analyze and organize large accounting data sets
• Support audits, reporting requests, and special projects
• Assist with process improvements and internal controls

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Sage 100 preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience a plus
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90, $110,000.00 per year
