The HomeStead at GentleBrook is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs for residents our beautiful, brand new Assisted Living + Memory Care. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or long-term care, with a strong background in event planning, recreational therapy, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. This role involves designing and implementing activities that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and overall well-being for residents with diverse needs, including memory care and disabilities.
Activity Director Pay + Perks
- Full Time (40 hours weekly)
- $17.50/hr

Activity Director Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and oversee a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed during activities to ensure comfort and participation.
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that meet individual needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to integrate activity plans with overall care goals and address specific aging issues counseling.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners to promote program participation and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Activity Director Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with team members.
- Ability to assist residents with ADLs during activities while maintaining safety protocols.
- Excellent schedule management skills to organize diverse activities efficiently.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of seniors through creative programming.
