Job Summary
The
Clinical Contract Manager
supports Global Clinical Development Operations (CDO) by managing clinical trial and clinical project–related contracts worldwide. As part of the CDO Business Strategy & Operations group, this role partners with Legal, Clinical Operations, Finance, Compliance, service providers, and clinical sites to ensure contracts are compliant, efficient, and executed on time. The role requires a paralegal background, strong process discipline, and the ability to bridge operational and legal teams in support of clinical trial excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of clinical trial and clinical project contracts, including drafting, review, negotiation, execution, tracking, amendments, renewals, close-out, and archiving.
- Review and manage standard terms and conditions, address routine change requests, resolve low-risk issues, and escalate complex or high-risk matters to Legal.
- Coordinate contract approvals, signature processes, and POA documentation to ensure compliance with internal and legal requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with clinical teams, service providers, sites, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Clinical Operations to ensure timely and appropriate contracting support for global studies.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of global contract templates, processes, tools, and training.
- Support harmonization of contract practices across global R&D hubs and maintain awareness of country-specific and industry requirements.
- Comply with applicable EHS regulations and required training.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in international clinical trial contract management.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating standard T&Cs and approved contract clauses, including country-specific variations.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with clinical sites and service providers across global locations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams.
