Olea Restaurant | Italian–Mediterranean Cuisine | Downtown
Welcome to Olea, a locally owned Italian–Mediterranean restaurant rooted in warm hospitality, thoughtful food, and beautiful beverages. Our bar program is an essential part of the Olea experience, and we're looking for an experienced, passionate Bar Manager to lead it with confidence, creativity, and care.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves service just as much as systems — someone who thrives behind the bar, enjoys mentoring a team, and takes pride in building a beverage program that elevates the guest experience.
About the Role
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day bar operations while actively working service shifts. You'll lead by example, ensure consistency and quality, support and develop bartenders, and collaborate closely with ownership and management on menu development, inventory, and training.
What Would Make an Amazing Fit
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
- Strong wine knowledge — WSET Level 1 or 2 preferred
- Confidence leading a team while remaining collaborative and supportive
- A creative mindset with an interest in seasonal cocktails, wine features, and menu development
- Excellent communication skills — with guests, staff, and leadership
- Someone organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of their space
- Ability to balance service, prep, administrative duties, and team leadership
- Availability for a mix of daytime and evening shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily bar operations during service
- Deliver warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service to every guest
- Train, mentor, and support bartenders in service standards, product knowledge, and workflow
- Maintain and uphold Olea's Steps of Service
- Curate and maintain a high-quality cocktail and wine program
- Assist with wine education for the team and guest-facing recommendations
- Manage inventory, ordering, costing, and waste control
- Ensure proper stocking, prep, cleanliness, and closing procedures
- Follow and enforce in-house checklists and operational standards
- Collaborate with management on menu changes, features, and events
- Step in to support the floor or team wherever needed — we're all hands on deck
What We Offer
- A supportive, respectful, and collaborative team culture
- Opportunities for creative input and program development
- Structured onboarding and training
- Staff discounts (on shift and off shift)
- Tip-out system in addition to hourly wage
- A workplace that understands balance — school, other jobs, and personal projects matter
We're excited to meet someone who wants to grow with Olea and take pride in leading a bar program that reflects our values.
We thank all applicants for their interest.
