Job Title: Second Shift Supervisor

Compensation 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At ND Packaging, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures, including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately, and completing all assigned online safety training each month
  • Follow all quality standards and operating requirements to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Utilize Kiwi and other production systems to ensure information is accurately documented and instructions and line-ups are followed
  • Capable of performing all positions of the Converting crew and providing coverage as needed
  • Relay messages promptly to appropriate personnel regarding production, quality, safety, or staffing adjustments
  • Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs and follow up to ensure timely resolution
  • Assist in the training, coaching, and development of Converting crew members
  • Set up, operate, and oversee machines to meet or exceed business key performance metrics (safety, quality, productivity, waste, and efficiency)
  • Review and check WIP lines daily to ensure material flow and accuracy
  • Manage and conduct pre-shift, post-shift, and daily communication meetings
  • Follow all expectations and directives established by the Plant Manager
  • Maintain working knowledge of SharePoint and navigate key resources including QD, shipment plans, work order databases, and tooling trackers
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a strong safety, quality, and operational background in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, continuously changing production environment
  • Maintains knowledge of industry-standard specifications and best practices

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the corrugated, pulp, or paper industry strongly preferred
