Our growing logistics operation in Raleigh, North Carolina, is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in ensuring that our products are prepared, packaged, and dispatched accurately and on time. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring all shipments comply with regulations and customer requirements. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to established procedures and customer specifications.
- Verify shipping orders against packed items to ensure accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms if applicable.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight carriers).
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and shrink wrappers, safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper documentation of outgoing goods.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Must be capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is advantageous.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with lifting techniques and warehouse safety best practices.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
