Personal Support Worker

Job Summary

Maplepath Healthcare is seeking compassionate and reliable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Home Support Workers (HSWs) to join our care network on an on-call, independent contractor basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance (bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing)
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation as required
• Companionship and emotional support
• Observe and report changes in client condition
• Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols
• Maintain accurate visit documentation and time logs

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Valid PSW or HSW certification (Ontario-recognized)
• Current CPR & First Aid certification
• Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check (recent)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (as per client/site requirements)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Ability to work independently and professionally
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Independent Contractor Requirements

• Registered as a self-employed contractor
• HST number (or willingness to register if required)
• Ability to submit invoices for services rendered
• Own mobile phone with email access
• Reliable transportation preferred (not mandatory but an asset)

Schedule & Work Model

• On-Call / As-Needed basis
• Shifts vary based on client demand (days, evenings, weekends)
• No guaranteed hours
• Contractors may accept or decline assignments

Compensation

• Competitive per-visit / hourly contract rates

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.58-$24.50 per hour

Work Location: In person
