Job Summary:
Are you an analytical and detail-oriented professional? We're looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is critical for ensuring we have the right stock at the right time, minimizing discrepancies, and optimizing warehouse efficiency. You will be responsible for cycle counting, investigating inventory variances, and implementing improvements to our inventory control processes. A strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management systems is essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce waste.
  • Manage the receiving and put-away process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, purchasing) to ensure inventory alignment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of materials and the use of PPE.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in inventory management and logistics.
  • Train other staff members on inventory control procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques (e.g., cycle counting, ABC analysis).
  • Ability to perform lifting up to 30 lbs as needed.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain principles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards.
