We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our Austin, Texas facility. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are received accurately, inspected thoroughly, and processed efficiently into our warehouse system. Your attention to detail is crucial in verifying deliveries against purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that our inventory is managed correctly from the moment it arrives. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient receiving area. You will be expected to handle materials, which may involve lifting, and to strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for damage or defects.
- Document and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage incoming inventory for put-away by warehouse associates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, supporting the overall logistics function.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse processes.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
